MAY PLANNING & ZONING MEETING MINUTES

 

MAY 19, 2009

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm by Chairman Larry Birnbaum.  Present for the meeting were chairman Birnbaum, commission members Kathy Meyer, Herb Dallum, Steve Kossett, Biron Wipson, and Bob Whitmyer, supervisors Jeff Bachke, John Werner and Greg Andrews and clerk Patti Alander.  Absent was deputy clerk Cammy Hansen.

 

A motion to approve the April 21st meeting minutes as presented was made by Kathy with a second by Steve.  Motion carried with Bob abstaining from the vote as he was not in attendance at the meeting.

 

Correspondence.   No correspondence was received.

 

Old Business.

 

A.       Patricia Hanson 4319 West Tischer Road.  The citation was issued in May 2008 and the sentencing was scheduled for today at 2:30 pm.  We don’t have the results of the sentencing.

B.      David & Joetta Godden CUP public hearing is scheduled for May 28, 2009 at 6:00 pm.  Patti verified the attendance by the commission members.  Biron and Kathy are unable to attend. Bob will get back to her.   If for some reason Bob can’t attend Kathy will change her plans so we have a quorum of the commission members.  The commission reviewed the attorney’s letter.  Patti asked if any of the commission members had any questions regarding the application and the attorneys’ letter.  At this time no one had any questions.

C.      Condemned building list.   An updated list of the condemned buildings was given to each of the commission members.  A discussion was held regarding which property should be the next one the town issues a citation for.  There are two additional properties that have ratings of 7 and 9 that should be considered for the next citation.  However, the property located at 4193 West Calvary Road with ratings of 8 and 6 should also be considered as it is located on a road with a higher traffic pattern.  Because of the visibility and the location being on a road with a higher traffic pattern a motion was made by Kathy with a second by Herb to cite the Judy Walters property located at 4193 West Calvary Road.  Motion carried.  After the town receives the sentencing information on the Patricia Hanson property they will issue a citation to Judy Walters.  The only reason for the delay is the town is concerned about the Judge issuing a fine of $50.00 and no remediation for clean up.   The commission asked if this happens what is the next step?   Neither Patti or Marty knew the answer.  In reviewing the list John asked Marty to get some follow up information from the BWRS regarding the wetland issues and fines on the Larry Cozzi and A-1 Auto Body properties.  John also asked why the Ray McClelland property on Rice Lake Road is not part of this list?  When the  commission members  reviewed the properties for ranking they just used the properties from a previous list to review and did not add any additional properties.     

 

Having nothing further to discuss a motion for adjournment was made by Herb with a second by Steve.  Motion carried with the meeting adjourned at 7:55 pm.
