PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES

JULY 21, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Larry Birnbaum.  Present for the meeting were chairman Birnbaum, commission members Kathy Meyer, Steve Kossett and Biron Wipson; supervisors Jeff Bachke, John Werner and Greg Andrews; clerk Patti Alander and deputy clerk Cammy Hansen.  Commission members Herb Dallum and Bob Whitmyer were absent.

A motion to approve the June 16, 2009 Planning & Zoning meeting minutes as presented was made by Kathy and seconded by Steve.  All vote in favor; motion carried with minutes placed in file.

CORRESPONDENCE:  None

OLD BUSINESS:

1.       Condemned building list:  tabled until next month

2.       Bow Hunting Ordinance:  Cammy passed out the first draft of a proposed Bow Hunting Ordinance.  Suggestions for some changes included:  adding the Lake Superior Charter School to the list of restricted areas, adding a minimum stand height and requiring that entrails and carcasses are removed if the landowner  requests.  Cammy will continue to work on the ordinance.

3.       View From the Lake Tour:  Bob Whitmyer will attend; Larry may also attend.

4.       Official Complaint Form:  tabled until next month

NEW BUSINESS:

1.       Annual reviews:  To be completed on 8/19/09 beginning at 5:30 p.m.  Review will be in lieu of the regular monthly meeting.

2.       Grew variance appeal:  Patti updated the commission on the events that occurred at the Grew trial regarding the appeal of the Board of Adjustment’s decision on a variance request today.  Both Patti and Marty were called as witnesses.  The judge has taken the matter under advisement and will issue his decision.
